Big Loss

I’ve never thought I would ever live through such an emotional disturbance in life, nor did I ever visualize about posting anything like this one. I need to share it with you all, it’s really important for the entire state. Some of them in India are sure having heard the news about the BIG LOSS of AP (Andhra Pradesh). Some of them have not I’m guessing, especially the one’s not living in India. I belong to a state called Andhra Pradesh in India. And I’m sharing about the BIG LOSS we are facing at the moment.

My mom apart from some of the boring programs for someone reason watches only news. She relays the worst information first. And I always go “Ya Ya” “Ok ok”! But yesterday morning was pretty unusual; she didn’t tell me what was going on. She looked on edge and not fine at all. I had to sit with her to know what was happening and I was shocked! Breaking news! And I see the chief Minister’s photograph; I gulped nervously and read the news that scrolled at the bottom of the screen. The chopper in which the Chief Minister of AP travelled was MISSING.I convinced myself, Oh only missing nothing happened yet. I relaxed but also kept an eye on every word that was scrolling on the news channel. It was indeed a shock for every one of us. They couldn’t trace the chopper until this morning.

Read almost every article about him last night. I couldn’t sleep with the fact that the person who is supposed to be ruling our state for quite some time is missing. There were a lot of people who called him “GOD”. He was a friend of the rural people. He won hearts of the people. He was a person who always worked for the benefit of the state. Such a wonderful and a dynamic leader who was travelling in the chopper was not found? I couldn’t digest the fact. I watched the news time and again to see if there was anything latest. I still had a hope that “He’s gonna be back”. He will be back and serve the people like before.

I couldn’t open my eyes when I woke up this morning as the sun rays through the window were blocking my vision. I tried to look out and it was sunny and bright.

I sat up and pushed away the quilt wondering why it didn’t rain? (It has been raining here since a week) I got out of the quilt, tied my hair up calling “MOM”. No reply! **Sigh** I got the picture that something went wrong yesterday, Oh no the Chief Minister was missing I recollected. Rushed to turn the television on, and it was already tuned to the news channel and I see the Chief Ministers photograph, like yesterday, but wait there was something on the picture, it was dated 1949-2009! Gosh, I was all cold and numb. I couldn’t blink, I couldn’t breathe. The news says he died. The chopper was crashed because of the bad weather yesterday. And today it didn’t rain; I wondered why he never postponed his travelling for today? Why did he choose to travel yesterday in such a bad weather despite knowing the fact that many people lost their lives in an air crash? He’s not coming back. It’s indeed a very sad thing and a BIG LOSS for the entire state. He means a lot to me. I respect the service he rendered. The entire state does.

I can understand what his family is going through. It’s really a tragic situation at the moment. I still can’t believe he died in a chopper crash. I still feel he’s alive, he will rule again. But I cannot avoid the naked truth about his demise. He was travelling to meet people and know what their problems are in their city/town to help them out, but unfortunately he couldn’t reach them. There are many pending works he planned for; I hope all his wishes are fulfilled one day. May his soul rest in peace and may his family be comforted.

Sir,

I know we are not related to each other, I know we have never met, I know you have never seen me before, but you've been like a father to me. Its a big loss for our state. No one can replace you, no one can complete the work like you did. We salute you Sir and we will miss you. You are a true hero.

no internet for the past 4 days ...didnt realise he died in a crash until this afternoon....:(...thats a big loss...many ministers have been lost in these helicopter crashes...winning the elections with such a majority shows he was a big hit with the people....i am waiting to see who replaces him...i read somewhere a silent campaign has been launched to make his son the cm of a.p....

Kaka - I will give 100% votes for his son to be the next CM! Because only he can do justice to YSR's death! :)

You know it's weird but I was SO hoping for him to be okay and return back.

I kept telling myself it'll be all fine. Maybe he was just lost or got kidnapped or something that can atleast keep him alive. Really didn't expect the worst. You just poured out my thoughts on your page.

State : mourning.

Ana, Aww *hugs* I've never expected this not even in my wildest dreams that he would leave us all. He was indeed a very nice person, and dying in a chopper crash makes zero sense to me. Why should this happen to nice people? And when I've seen the pictures of his body......! It all makes me feel just numb and numb!! :-|

@esther we have lost some good ministers due to crashes...as far as ysr's case goes there were reports that the helicopter wasnt in the best of standards and he took a risk by travelling when the weather wasnt good enough for flying...the indian aviation industry including the airforce needs a facelift....

I dunno much about him or his deeds, but I can see the love the people of his state have for him...

Don know much abt him, but going by what you say, he must be a real good person, big loss for the country as well :(

It really was a big shock.
I'm still wondering what prompted him to fly that day, instead of waiting for the weather to clear up a bit.

Who knows what may happen to any of us. Life's pretty unpredictable.

I'm not much aware of his developmental works and all..but the fact that he's one of the few elected for a second term during much turbulence in the nation ratifies his importance against a mere hype..
may his soul rest in peace :|

My entire family was glued to the tv set for past two days. When the news first came in that he was missing I was joking around thinking he was stranded in the forest and would soon be found.

I wasnt expecting such rude, abrupt end to him. Totally meaningless. Its so unfair. He deserved to finish his second term. He was and will be one of my favorite politicians I respect him for fulfilling the promises he made unlike other politicians. His pro poor schemes reached the poor to certain extent.

There is no other leader in congress to fill the void he left.

Saddest news ever :(. RIP YSR sir.

Kaka Exactly, there were so many ministers who lost their lives in air crash. I really pity! I don't know how the security allowed CM to travel in such a weather. They are not supposed to send him. Its a total negligence. I hope they learn something in the future. But who would fill the gap of YSR! No one!

PS : Collect your award!

Dhanya I agree with you, its been a big deal here. People here have also sacrificed their lives! Its a sad thing. And I'm still in a shock!

Sourav Yeah he was a real good person, there's a bandh here people are still rallying! It has affected the entire state and we are all still in a perplexed situation! Unbelievable. Its truly a big loss to the country!

Shaunak Even I wondered why he chose to travel in a bad weather. A great man indeed, wanted to get the work done. But I wonder why the security was so cool about letting him travel. Can't blame anyone, Its so true life is so unpredictable. Only God has a track of what's gonna happen tomo!

Gayathri Yes he was selected to rule the state the second time. I was the happiest girl when he won the elections. Its so unfortunate that we are missing such a man. No one can fill his gap! NO ONE!

PS: thanks for the visit :)

Bala Yea we are missing a real hero! :( and I agree with you. I haven't seen a leader like him.

Neha death under such circumstances is awful I completely agree with you, and its totally Unfair!! :( ..

Hemish Even I thought it was another way of terrorist attack in the country. I thought maybe he was kidnapped or got caught by the naxals. I thought maybe Mr. rosaiah and ramakanth knew this but were hiding it from the media because it was so impossible to believe that there was no trace at all! :O

Its shocking! And I'm still feeling numb, the entire state has shattered, imagine what the family has been through!!!! He will always remain my favorite too, and will always be the first hero! :)

Workhard It was the same with me! I was totally numb! I still don't believe he's no more. The pictures of the spot and the crash and some of the parts of the bodies made me feel so... :( :( :( !!!! Can't even say anything. He will always remain as a true hero!

Megha Its really a great shock here, people are still rallying with MISS YOU NOTES to YSR! Roads are all blocked. Its a wide bandh here. Seems like something important is missing. People have committed suicide too, and some of them died due to heart attack! We are shattered and really unhappy! Especially people in rural areas. They say he was like a brother to them!!! :(
We hope to fulfill his vision.
May his soul rest in peace!

It's such a huge monumental loss to politics....he was a visage , a visionary, friend of the down-trodden and championed the cause of andhra's welfare.

It is unbearable to lose such a legend.

History spill tears, becomes standstill before coming to terms to the heart-shattering truth that he is no more to walk among us.

It refuses to record his untimely death in the time chronicles.

Yeah, the news has been kinda disturbing with all the deviations in tidbits about the whole affair!!

It has been a state of shock and surprise..I hope it all gets back to normal for his family soon and definitely for those who have pinned their hopes on him...

He will continue to live on in their hopes and dreams for the state..:)

Keep writing!

It is an unfortunate fact of life. The loss of someone great (whether family, friend or in this case, your CM) is never easy. I'm sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to you all during this time.
