Excuse me?

Isn’t it excellent to have an older brother? I feel it’s exceptionally good, although lemme not emphasize more on the drawbacks for now. My bro [danny] is two years older to me and we have a great relationship, yes we do fight a lot, but in the end we’re like best friends. To be honest, after mom he’s my next favorite in my family [I hope my older sister is not cursing me]. I like both my siblings but danny is my favorite, ah, well you get it no? Okay. We have the best understanding. And the best part here is that he does everything that makes me happy. And yes he loves me just the way I do too.

Danny and I hang out together. We do have mutual friends. And most of my other friends who are not so close to me are aware that I have a brother but are not aware of how he looks like. Here are a few examples I wanted to share of what had happened with us recently which were laughable, memorable, wonderful and horrible too!

First one

We went for shopping and Danny parks the car. I get out of it. Then he gets out of it. Door slams. I bump into this oh-so-long-ago-friend.

Friend – Hey Esther right?

Me – hey hi, long time, how you been?

Friend – Yea long time. I’ve been good. I’m engaged.

Me – oh that’s a great news *giggles*

Friend – so what you doing these days? When are you getting married?

Me – [why is that a question now anyways?] Err, actually no plans yet.

Friend – oh just dating eh? *eyes on my bro with a naughty smile on her face*

Me – sorry?

Friend - *points at danny* and *shrugs*

Me – Excuse me? He’s my bro.

Friend – oops :O

Second one – There’s always this problem when you ride with a guy be it your colleague, your classmate or your very good friend. If a girl and a guy ride together the world loves to create unwanted relationships in their minds.

We were stuck at a traffic signal. And pillion riding on danny’s bike is like risking your own life. No he’s not a bad rider the problem is, I don’t find a single thing to hold onto when I pillion ride with him apart from his broad shoulders. We found a lot of beggars come our way asking for money. We were busy with our talks but I still quite remember this one beggar who was slowly mumbling while begging and was almost touching my feet. I was digging my pockets to give her some coins because she looked old, while I heard her say something in hindi Dua hai ke tum dono ka Jodi humesha banaya rahe [May God keep you both happy always] And all I could say was “Excuse me?” ….. “He’s my” …. And the signal broke and my bro rode as fast as he could. And she couldn't gain the coins either :| [Not my fault]

Third one – How many of you carry wallets? Everyone yeah? And how many of you have pictures of your loved ones in it? All of you? Nice. I have a picture fixed in my wallet too. Danny’s. So, the thing is I have a habit of making every uncle and aunt of the street as my friend. Be it a dry cleaning lady, a roadside tailor, or a chai-wala [Tea-seller]. I go to this very tiny store every alternate day to get credits for my phone and yes that store guy is my friend too, obviously. He never saw my wallet before, because I always dug my pockets for money. But that day I had to pay him extra so I had to open my wallet in front of him, while he was busy asking me to sell my bike to him once I leave India [for higher education]. I kept doing ho-hum for a while until I found a 100 rupee note and he suddenly said HEY your boyfriend. I looked around. I looked at him with a straight face. He raised one of his eyebrows and gave a wicked smile looking at the picture in my wallet.

Excuse me? He’s my brother!

[So, ultimately when I hang out with my bro alone or if I ride with him, people who don't know me think that we're dating. What a world this is.]

PS: If I experience anything funnier, I will share it for sure.

PPS: Have a happy weekend!

People often think my brother is my boy friend. And he's like 5 years younger than me!

He, however, looks older than me. That's kind of sad.:p

I hate my sister's friends. All chatar patar chatar patar!

But I only tolerate them for my sisso!

And mum asks me to go with her when she wants to go to the mall with her friends. I am like the body guard of a gang of young chatar patar girls :|

But I do it anyways :P

Sisters are the best thing after mothers ;) :D
